The Story
The Bedford 55-2226 is a direct-fit replacement for the ASM 4425 valve stem locknut, supplied as a 3-pack for ASM 400 series spray guns and also referenced as H.E.R.O 10-55-4425. The locknut holds the gun's valve stem adjustment in position, and because it comes off during most gun repacking jobs, technicians typically keep spares on hand.
Common reasons for replacement:
- Locknut loosening and letting the valve stem adjustment drift
- Rounded flats from repeated service with worn wrenches
- Lost hardware during gun teardown or repacking
- Stocking spares for scheduled spray gun maintenance
