The Story
The Bedford 12-1959 is a direct-fit replacement for the Binks 544263 packing nut. It is a packing nut that compresses the throat packing stack against the pump cylinder, controlling packing wear and throat seal life.
Common reasons this packing nut is replaced:
- Thread damage from over-torquing during packing service
- Loss of packing compression causing throat leakage
- Galling or seizure during removal for service
- Routine replacement during scheduled packing rebuild
Service technicians install this part during routine maintenance and during diagnostic teardowns of Binks spray equipment when the listed failure modes appear.
