The Story
The Bedford 18-991 is a direct-fit replacement for the Graco 166228 male gland. The gland compresses and retains the packing that seals around a moving rod or stem, and a worn gland can no longer hold that packing seal under pressure.
Common reasons for replacement:
- Fluid leaking past the packing the gland retains
- Worn or damaged gland sealing surface
- Packing that won't hold pressure after adjustment
- Routine replacement during packing service
