The Story
The Bedford 29-1974 is a direct-fit replacement for the Graco 222198 pressure drain valve, a thumb-screw type valve with a 1/4" NPT(m) connection rated to 5000 PSI. It relieves residual fluid pressure when the pump is shut off or when pressure exceeds the maximum, and the thumb screw lets the operator open it by hand without tools.
Common reasons for replacement:
- Fluid leaking past the valve when closed
- Thumb screw stripped or hard to turn
- Pressure not relieving fully on shutdown
- Routine replacement during pump service
