The Story
The Bedford 29-2580 is a direct-fit replacement for the Titan/SpeeFlo 944-620 outlet bleed valve, with a 1/4" NPT(m) inlet and 1/8" NPT(f) outlet — the "(m)" and "(f)" mark the male and female tapered pipe threads. Opening the bleed valve relieves fluid pressure so the pump can prime and so the system can be depressurized safely before service.
Common reasons for replacement:
- Pump slow to prime or unable to bleed off pressure
- Fluid leaking past the valve seat when closed
- Valve stem stiff or seized from dried coating
- Routine replacement during pump or manifold service
