The Story
The Bedford 29-2600 is a direct-fit replacement for the Wagner 700258 bypass valve assembly, the prime/spray (bypass) valve used on Titan and Wagner 440, 540, 640, 740, and 840 airless sprayers. Turning this valve routes fluid back to the hopper to prime the pump and relieve pressure, then switches it to spray — so a worn bypass valve leaves the pump hard to prime or unable to hold pressure.
Common reasons for replacement:
- Pump won't prime or loses prime during operation
- Fluid leaking around the valve knob or body
- Valve stiff or stuck between prime and spray positions
- Pressure bleeding off when the valve is set to spray
