The Bedford 55-3454 is a 3-pack of inlet strainers supplied as a direct-fit replacement for Graco 17P554. Inlet strainers attach to the siphon tube or suction inlet to catch debris from the material bucket before it can enter and damage the pump.
On Graco airless equipment, a damaged inlet strainer lets bucket debris reach the inlet valve, which causes pump misfires, cavitation, and material starvation at the gun.
Common reasons these filters are replaced:
- Damaged or torn strainer mesh found at the siphon tube
- Cavitation noise at the pump that traces back to a blocked inlet strainer
- Recommended replacement when the siphon tube is removed for service
- Bulk service: stocking inventory for shop-wide preventive maintenance
