The Bedford 55-2453 is a 3-pack of tip filters supplied as a direct-fit replacement for Graco 238561. Tip filters seat in the gun's tip housing and provide a final straining stage just upstream of the spray tip, preventing partial clogs that cause tails and fingering.
On Graco airless equipment, a clogged or damaged gun/tip filter typically shows up as pressure spikes, an irregular spray pattern, or a partial tip blockage during the job.
Common reasons these filters are replaced:
- Performance drop at a new tip that traces back to an old, restricted filter
- Material crossover after a color or paint change without a full flush
- Partial tip clogs and pattern tails during otherwise clean spray work
- Visibly damaged or compressed mesh on inspection
